IPL Mega Auction 2024
IPL Mega Auction venues compete with each other to host the mega auction. Every IPL franchise has a Rs 95 crore budget to build a strong team, which includes both domestic and overseas Indian players. The entire Rs 90 crore cannot be used on players.
Teams are required to spend at least 75% of their Rs 60 crore budget on player acquisition. Teams have the option to spend 30% to 40% of their budget on the top 5 players.
The number of players available for auction in every IPL event is changed on an annual basis. There is no upper limit.
IPL 2024 Auction Budget
The team purse for the auction has been increased by Rs 5 and now stands at Rs 100 crore. This is Rs 5 more than last year’s Rs 95 crore. The amount each franchise can spend on the auction will depend on the value of their players during the auction.
Each team will be allotte a budget of around Rs 100 crore (about $12.02 million), which will allow them to build their teams for the next season. This is an increase of Rs 5 crore over last year’s budget.
The Mumbai Indians have the lowest value so far at Rs.05 crore, which is equivalent to $0.006 million. The Hyderabad Sunrisers have a valuation of Rs.79 crore, which is equal to $0.55 million, and the Delhi Capitals have a stake of Rs.54 crore, which is around $0.45 crore.
